What's the Underground?I've heard it everywhere but have no clue what it is.Someone help me.

The underground, that is when you're not above ground, you're hiding under it. The underground is very common in London.

If you mean underground rap then I suppose it's just the opposite of comercial rap (put very simply)

I wouldn't say the "opposite"
Simply, an underground artist as opposed to a mainstream arist is one who does not sell well and is not very widely known apart from locally.
Of course with commercialism now, there's the "underground mentality" where basically an artist refuses to make popular music that'll sell well, so if they succeed they succeed on their own merits, or something.
It's around but not mainstream. It's either too hardcore or too shitty to become mainstream...but then again why didn't Slipknot stay underground. They suck ass.

If he doesn't know what underground is, why do you think he would know what "commercial" and "mainstream" mean?
The underground is a term for all the artists who aren't signed to major record labels - unsigned or white label/independant label - or artists with low distribution.
