Nelly’s new LP, Nellyville has debuted at No 1 on the US Billboard album chart.

The Southern rapper’s second album knocked The Eminem Show from the top spot after a five week run at No 1. Nellyville has shifted 714,000 copies over the past week while Eminem’s album sold 308,000 units, six weeks after its release.

Nelly is also No 1 on the US Hot 100 singles chart with Hot In Herre. Eminem’s Without Me is still holding on to the No 2 spot.

Other new entries include rapper NORE, whose third solo effort, God’s Favourite, entered the chart at No 3 after shifting 119,000 copies. The debut album from Dr Dre’s protégé Truth Hurts entered at No 5 with sales of 89,000 units. Will Smith’s new album Born To Reign sold a disappointing 60,000 units and entered at the No 13 spot.

I'm defenitley not surprised. I knew Nelly would take the #1 spot. But I know that he won't be able to hold it for 6 weeks straight like The Eminem Show did!

If they were both released the same week I doubt Nelly would have gone top.
