Hook: X2
Life pushes and pulls, it's got no direction,
-We all dream of tomorrow-
IF life seems worthless, take a second guess then,
-We all dream of better times-
1:
Cruise through the ghetto, from third third to central,
All I see are pedo's, and kids with mom widows,
It's dumb shit though, they struggle, no complaints,
Work 16 hour days, almost ready to faint,
Broken down house, wit a broken down shroud,
If ya kids do shout, gotta throw em out,
It's tough on ya heart, to see em suffer,
but it's survival, one less stomach at supper,
Repress the stress from memories, fight for yourself,
Put pictures in boxes, leave em on a shelf,
way in the back, so it's like they gone,
Don't mention they name, and you'll get along,
Two little ones at home, and another on the way,
no maternity leave, they can't afford to pay,
so you shut you eyes, bat back the tears,
and remind yourself that it's only 18 years...

2:
Mary's a single mother, she's got three kids,
Works two jobs, and can't afford to baby-sit,
Can't pay anyone either, so her kids age fast,
Soon they stealing, and soon they talkin back,
but it ain't all bad, they take care of each other,
The oldest is 9, and she's the mom to her brother,
They form strong bonds, they torn from mom,
and they don't need a father, what's that prove, huh?
Mommy's home late, the kids haven't ate,
their stomachs all growl, but they celebrate,
mom got home safe, she didn't get raped,
and this seems to make the growls go away,
But mommy got hurt, mommy had a fall,
mommy ended up inside the hospital,
when asked about children, she said none at all,
this is why the oldest, is crying in the hall...

3:
He lies on the couch, a beer in his hand,
"Where is your son?" "Who gives a damn?"
He's run from two wives, ran from six kids,
Now he got left with his own, and he's stuck with it,
Don't mean he loves him, don't mean he cares,
Kid talked back, ended up down the stairs,
The kid eats when he wants, supper don't exist,
At night he sits and wonders, is there a life better than this?
He's 16, got a girlfriend he loves,
but when he gets drunk, it gets to pushes n shoves,
She might be pregnant, and he's been taught to run,
He don't wanna deal with a daughter or a son,
She turns out pregnant, and the son leaves home,
18 years later, he's still on the roam,
His son discovers him, and he remains unknown,
and walks right past him, lets him die alone...
